You Were Wired to Win

You Were Wired to Win

You didn't get lucky into your design. You were built for it.

Long before you started chasing goals, something in you was already engineered to reach them.

Your brain runs a built-in filter that decides, out of millions of signals a second, what actually makes it into your awareness: it hands priority to whatever you've told it matters most.

Scientists have a name for this filter. I call it evidence: what you fix your eyes on is what starts showing up in your life. That's not luck. That's design. "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he" (Proverbs 23:7).

There's a second layer worth knowing. The simple act of paying close attention to something changes it: the observing itself becomes part of the outcome. Your focus was never passive.

It's participatory. God knew this before any lab ever proved it, which is why He kept commanding His people to fix their eyes, guard their hearts, and renew their minds (Romans 12:2). Attention was always the lever He handed us.

I wrote about this in Rooted, Built, Wired, and one phrase kept traveling further than the rest: wired to win.

Not "positioned to win, if the market cooperates." Wired: already in the architecture. Genesis 1:27 says you carry the image of the One who spoke galaxies into place with a sentence. That's not a compliment. That's your spec sheet.

But architecture without activation just collects dust. Here's how to turn it on, daily.

1. Name the win before the noise does. Before your phone, before Slack, before the group chat: speak one true thing about who you are and what today is for.

This is identity-based change: you don't wait to feel like a winner, you act like one until the feeling catches up. I call it renewing your mind before the world rents space in it. Five minutes, non-negotiable. (More in Guarding Your Mind.)

2. Watch what you're watching. At midday, stop and ask what's had your attention on repeat. Complaints, comparison, doubt: that's what you've been reinforcing.

Philippians 4:8 issued the command long before any study confirmed it: think on what's true, noble, and praiseworthy, and your whole system reorganizes around it. (See Alignment Before Acceleration.)

3. Repeat until it's identity, not effort. Wins compound the way debt does: quietly, then all at once. One day of alignment is a nice day. Thirty is a new normal.

This is the "Repetition" in Faith → Identity → Action → Repetition: do the small thing again tomorrow, not because you feel inspired, but because that's who you've decided you are.

You weren't wired to almost win.

Activate it today.
